Types Of Social Media Marketing Websites
Now in 2016 there are literally thousands probably even tens of thousands of Social Media Marketing websites. There are only a few that have a real proven track record of making online marketers money.
In this post I'm going to outline what I believe are the most popular Social Media Networks that hold the greatest opportunity to make money.
All of these sites have millions if not billions of members. They will be a good start when you're looking at generating traffic or formulating a Social Media Strategy for your business or an offline marketing business.
#1: Facebook - http://facebook.com
Facebook is the biggest Social Networking website of them all. When Facebook first started it blew up and when it began allowing advertisers onto the website for the first time many of the advertisers made into the millions within a few short months. Facebook still today is the BEST place to get paid traffic for your website. It's easy to setup (With a bit of training) and as you'll see you can begin seeing results within a matter of minutes. It also has a great feature which is called "Retargeting" Facebook retargeting I will dedicate a post later towards. It is one of the easiest ways to generate an ROI for your advertising. If you are wanting a start in paid traffic this is the best place to start.
#2: Twitter - http://twitter.com
Twitter popped up not long after Facebook. Today it is very popular amongst celebrities and many companies use Twitter. I haven't seen many marketers using it successfully who aren't a brick and mortar business. Surprisingly there are a few ways to be really effective over Twitter with local businesses. My wife Eva will update a strategy she's used to generate a ton of leads at some point. It's not great with paid ads as far as I can see so far.
#3: Linked In - http://linkedin.com
Linked In is a 'professionals' Social Network. It gives members the ability to update their CV online and connect with other people who are on there. There are a number of great ways to monetize Linked In that can really pay off. It also has a great ads system and friends of mine have had a lot of good success advertising over it.
#4: Instagram - http://instagram.com
Instagram is a 'photo social network' that specializes in people taking photos on their mobile phone and then sharing them publicly or privately over the website. Facebook now allows you to advertise through Instagram (Since it acquired Instagram recently) Advertising is really new over the platform still. It's a website that's new but well worth investigating for traffic.
#5: Pinterest - http://pinterest.com
Pinterest is a photo website where people can post photos of themselves or other topics onto the social network. It alow allos you to post or share other peoples images. Pinterest marketing had some buzz about a year ago - I haven't heard much about it since for marketing purposes.
#6: Periscope - http://periscope.tv
Periscope is a really new Social Network that seems to be growing really fast. It gives you the ability to share live videos of yourself to the world. It's a cool idea and concept - Facebook has now introduced live video sharing like Periscope does so it will be interesting to see if Periscope will continue to grow as it has done.
Any Social Networks I have missed? Anything to add?
